I, too, gave up. I plug in my car every time I go into the garage, so the frequent detail is too much to track. And Toyota could give us detail on every trip (like kWh used, in addition to the miles that it does give us), which would be all I want.

Toyota finally updated the app last month to show the actual usable battery percentage to match the battery percentage on the vehicles gauge cluster, aka MID.
Hopefully in the near future, Toyota can at least help us understand how much electricity we have delivered to the vehicle in a large time frame instead of current method of showing each charge session.

I have been logging fuel quantities and mileage at every fill-up since new. I plan to turn it into a spreadsheet some day.

When I had my Volt the trip computer included the gallons of gas used since it was reset so calculating the mpg for that tank was pretty easy and I would snag a picture of that trip for my "records" then reset it before setting off. I'll probably do something similar with the prius and just jot down the number of gallons I put in at the pump. I'm not too concerned about the price I pay at the plug as we have reasonably cheap power.
