Walked into a Costco affiliated local dealer with zero Prius or Camry's on the lot on 5 July. Had to track down one of the salesmen who had his personal 5th Gen Prius in the employee lot to see if I fit comfortably and in general to have a detailed "eyes-on" a 5th Gen Prius. Anyway, for the earliest delivery possible, I had to choose from a couple of vehicles allocated to them. Ended up choosing a Wind Chill Pearl XLE with a couple of options I didn't really want to pay for - $475 for premium paint, and $350 for 3 years of Sirius XM. Delivery date was kinda vague - last week of July to the first two weeks of August. Put $1000 down to reserve the vehicle. My OTD price here in SoCal with the Costco savings turned out to be $35,946.26. Looking forward to my first hybrid vehicle (currently a Tundra, Sequoia and Scion Xd owner).... yet not holding my breath vis-a-vis the delivery date.
Thank you, SXP and congratulations on the new Prius! I just reserved my AWD Limited w/ Advanced Tech. Package in Reservoir Blue yesterday, putting $1K down. Woohoo! I was not having any luck trying to get one of the dealers local to me to order the vehicle for me and losing patience REALLY quickly, but was able to find a handful on the Toyota SmartPath site and managed to one that had not yet been reserved for $41.5K out the door. I'm happy with that since I wanted "exactly what I wanted" and nothing extra, and hate the game playing involved. Should be arriving Saturday.
