Do these exist for gen 5 Prius? I've had them in previous cars and enjoyed the glare reduction and improvement in situational awareness.

I don't know of specific replacement for G5 but there are plenty of add on ones that should do the trick

Toyota makes blue-tinted water-repellent mirror glass* for the gen5, but I don't think there's an OEM convex glass option. However @jtchinoy recently installed a set of mirrors that he said came from Spain(?) that I think had convex sections and maybe blue? I think he said they didn't work because the convex angles were set for a right-hand drive car. He kept the new housings for the turn signals and folding motors, but swapped in his original glass.

As far as aftermarket options, I've got no idea on that front.

    Ah shame there's none available.

I know there are tons of generic add on ones but they just don't look as sleak as a drop in replacement.

I got convex mirrors with my RHD mirrors from Japan. RHD mirrors do not look right from the left side, so I had to remove them. It was quite jarring and hurt my eyes.

I used blue tint film on my US mirrors but they were pretty hazy and made it harder to see, so I eventually removed them.

There are OEM blue tint mirrors in Japan, but they will probably have the same issue of not reflecting properly if you're in a LHD car.
    Looks like they're called "Rain Clear Blue Mirror": トヨタ純正60系プリウス適合グレード:G / Z レインクリア リングブルーミラータイプ2ディーラーオプション品 ※本文内適合条件要確認 : enzo-fascino - 通販 - Yahoo!ショッピング

It looks like there are 4 part numbers for the blue rain clearing mirror based on this yahoo.jp listing. Based on careful reading here is my best interpretation of what each model number corresponds to.

For mirrors with heating and blond spot monitoring.

For mirrors with heating, blind spot monitoring, and panoramic view monitor.

    For mirror with heating only.

    For the most basic mirror.

Thank you for the info. I never considered that convex mirrors have different profiles for right and left side mirrors, but that's really good to know.

Thank you for the translations! I also stumbled upon the Yahoo jp site when searching, but am afraid that these may run into the rhd/lhd issue that jtchinoy mentioned.

Do you guys think there's enough interest in doing a group buy for these mirrors?

I'm not sure if forum rules allows so I won't mention any specific vendors, but I have bought them for previous vehicles through group purchases before.

Purchasing mirrors via a forwarder like Buyee or Zenmarket is pretty affordable to ship. May be $30-40 to ship at worst, depending on how big the package is from the seller.

Once you start dealing in parts larger than a whole mirror assembly is when the price of shipping may warrant a bulk shipment by sea via more specialized providers.
