I had an uber ride in a Kia Niro electric today. I didn't notice the odometer but the interior was rough, chunks missing from the steering wheel, various marks on the headliner. The driver got a low battery alarm a few miles before he dropped me off, and he'd mentioned he still had another 35 miles to go on his own voyage. Hope it worked out for him.

It was okay to ride in, though the seat felt quite close to the floor, not a lot of thigh support.

I saw a 70s Mercedes 230 in decent shape this morning, maybe the W114 body? I've always loved the W123 models from the early 80s.

Yesterday I saw a silver Plymouth Prowler on the interstate.

An assortment of red sports cars today, a 911 GT3, C8 Corvette, and an LC500. Getting tires done on the Tacoma and there's an MK5 GR Supra in the lot, and I also saw a Bullit Mustang. A real oddball was a Gen 3 Prius with Gen 2 15" wheels (incidentally I saw a Gen 2 with Gen 3 wheels, maybe they swapped lol).

I'm working in rural NY this week, and it's a mild summer, so there are classic cars out all over the place. Too many to list.

There was one car that really caught my eye... a late model Toyota Prius c in Tangerine Splash Pearl. Other than our own, it's the only one I've ever spotted. Only took six and a half years.

I see an occasional Lamborghini, Porsche, McLaren or some similar 3-foot high super car on the road here.
Given that I can barely get into my Prius because of the low roof line, I's surprised it doesn't look more upscale.

What made you think we didn't have it? Anyway it's only got about 92k on it now. One of the many things that changed permanently during the pandemic was our usage pattern; we are not driving that car as much as we had expected.

It is very unlikely to ever recoup its extra cost in gasoline savings, but we still like it, and it's not like there are many good hatchbacks left out there.

The societal trend in general to unload cars after ½ a decade - & remembering ~½ a decade ago was when toyo gave the c the ax? in any event - it was more of an inquiry than a presumption

Ah gotcha. We'd always planned on keeping that one 8-12 years and even though our usage is now below predictions, it's not enough to change the overall replacement calendar.

It's not going to be easy to replace that car, there are almost no good hatchbacks left and almost all of them are larger.
