Seeking simple aesthetically good repair method that will halt deterioration Innovative suggestions are appreciated
Ole Miss bumper sticker will cover that right up..... They're probably even made from the same material.
...... or - try this stuff, from amazon Check out Crymoy on Amazon Amazon.com: Crymoy: Automotive Plenty of videos on YouTube that show how to use the stuff & it's supposed to work on both real & fake leather.
It looks like it's de-laminating from the base material. IMHO, any fix applied would only be temporary, because of the movement and flexibility of that area. An automotive upholstery shop would sew-in/replace the entire panel. IMHO, Seat covers would be the cheapest and fastest fix for this... Good Luck....
Seat covers would be great in most instances. They are even a nice way to inhibit seat wear from both body scuffing & UV. If you have ac ventilated seats though? It sure inhibits cooling of your backside - as the only downside. Often life is a series of trade-offs.
Do Automotive Leather Upholstry shops have the capability to sew in a leather patch “in site” (without removing the seat from the car)? If it is not possible / practical / desirable to sew in a leather patch, please advise. Otherwise, I think I like the idea of a seat cover for the interim.
