NEVER buy AAA batteries they suck !!!! I only buy Toyota OEM

Actually there's been a huge 12v scam going on since Prius first hit the market... Hybrid cars don't need a typical 12v battery that starts the engine. Prius only needs a tiny bit of power from a 12volt to turn on the computers and relays to power up the high voltage battery which handles all power needs, including starting the engine.

Because this is a "different" battery than regular automotive batteries the greedy corporate CEOs (especially Toyota Stealerships) see exploitive opportunities and have been acting like the difference means Prius batteries cost $100 MORE than a regular automotive battery when the truth is they cost $100 less because its not cold cranking amps but amp hours that matter in this battery types lifespan.

Your local BatteriesPlus sells a back up power supply battery for just under $200 that will work, or online for just over $100 and both give you a 55amp-hour battery that fits. And compare that to the $300+ scam of a "special" hybrid car battery that auto parts sellers sell that only has 38amp-hours....

The terminals connect in a slightly different way, which requires a trip to a hardwarde store for some bolts and washers, but if you're interested in not wasting any more money on your 12v I'd be happy to walk you through those details.
