I have a 2024 Prius Limited and am struggling with CarPlay.
    1. I figured out how to get into CarPlay but how does one get back to the Prius main screen setup, etc.
    2. I have read CarPlay can be unstable. Have you found this true?

    1. Tap the Toyota icon in the set of app icons. I have it set up as the sixth icon so that it appears at the bottom left of the first screen.
    2. If the phone's connection is lost, CarPlay will be interrupted. I connect wirelessly. I find I get momentary interruptions every so often, but I only get full Bluetooth loss that necessitates rebooting the system a few times a year.
Note: you can reboot the system by pushing the volume knob on display and holding it until the Toyota emblem appears.

Thanks for the tip on #2... Did not know that... The way I been resolving the weird disconnect issues with CarPlay is going into the Toyota setting disconnect and reconnect back to my phone.

I do have a few issues with CarPlay myself. After driving my wife's Kia with CarPlay and installing an aftermarket CarPlay on my 2004 Prius. There are some things that just work different that I don't like. After searching the forums, it seems like something I just need to deal with, which I feel is unfortunate.

I like to listen to radio or Sirius/XM or select radio apps on Carplay. I like having navigation via Carplay on...and I really just want to press a button and have it switch from one thing to another. I've found I cannot do this with ease. It's crap. Have to start the app, then CarPlay starts. Well, not every time. SMH. Between the crappy rubber that came with the car (Privacy by Michelin) and the whole drama in finding a spare tire.. Should have kept my RAV4. I do however... enjoy the money saved on gas.

2024 Prius Prime here. Iphone 12 . My grievance is when listening to Radio (my main and preferred thing to do), using iphone to do anything, like pulling up Shazam to find out what song is playing on the radio, the radio shuts off. The Prius Prime radio stops playing radio when I use the iphone Camera, Shazam App, and just about anything on the phone. This does not happen on my 2017 Prius, or my 2021 Chevy. So this interruption to my personal habits and flow ... leave me wanting to just turn off CarPlay, but I do like map navigation and the reading of and replying to text messages. My other grief is when I start my car, I have to press 5 times/buttons/steps to actually get a radio station. If I am listening to radio and shut car off, the car does not default to radio when starting, then press 5 times to navigate to the Car > Tunes > Sources > FM Radio > ... When did playing a radio become the uncommon thing to do? I think I know the answer to that. I prefer the interface on every other car I own, and I struggle in the Prius Prime. And on another note, the mileage is not as good as the 2017, so for me, the 2024 Prius Prime platform is not so great. I might consider getting away from the Prime and trying a non Prime, I like the car, and so does everyone who sees it.
