    Hello there,

I am new to this world.

This is my first time buying a Prius. My 2024 Prius Limited makes the UFO sounds that really bother me. I've heard that there is some way to disable it, which is reversible.

However, I am not an electrician and have no experience in it at all. I have already purchased the resistor, 090II-2P-5 2-way kit, heat shrink tubes, and soldering kit.

Yet, I am unsure what I should do to make it look like the picture below because there is no step-by-step guide on this site.

I really don't know. It also amazes me there are folks who first thing want to disable safety related features.
With the windows up I don't even here it.

you have to pull the blue plugs out of the grey connector to see if the wires are soldered or crimped.
or if you buy the plugs, you can determine the method

Are there any studies that show how many people are killed or injured due to cars that are cruising quietly at slow speeds? Last time I looked for proof there were non available online. I looked for that information because the noise is distracting when driving below 25 MPH. It sounds just like the bad brakes in my previous cars / pickups.

What I did find was that there were about 1 million adults who were "legally blind". How much are we wasting on a "squawk" from the car, when no-one listens for it?

I suspect that it would be cheaper and more effective to give each blind pedestrian a receiver / transmitter that detects a radio beam from an approaching car and only then would it signal an alarm in the car as well as an alert in the pedestrian's equipment.

At the very least, the squawk noise should be standardized so that everyone, sighted and blind, will recognize it as signal that a car is approaching.
