A lot of this was discussed in the "Aftermarket spare tire kit for 2024 Prius Prime" thread, you may find some useful info there. I chose the Modern Spare kit as my solution. It is not the cheapest option but it is one stop shopping. I used it recently when we picked up a nail and needed to drive to Discount Tire for a replacement.

Good input there, Hammersmith, thanks much. I've ordered a lightly used OEM wheel to match my stock 19" wheels, and will get a matching Primacy tire, then do 5 tire rotations. Perhaps when its time for a new set of rubber, I'll revisit this whole dilemna. For now, I have no issue with the 19" and they do look nice with the Karashi Nightshade. I'm curious, you have Toyos on now? If so, how do you like them compared to the stock Primacys?

I've never had Primacys, so I can't compare. Toyota ships Priuses with both brands of tires and I got the Toyos. I've heard the Primacys are better, though. But probably not by all that much. I notice an improvement in comfort when I switch to my X-Ice Snow winter tires, but that's not a fair comparison.

I've owned my 2024 since November 2024 and I got my 3rd tire puncture this morning. Presumably a nail, a blunt end machine screw, and now a 1/4" x 6" metal bar. I was quite shocked when I pulled that out this morning. I have a tire inflator and a patch kit in the trunk, but I think that I'm going to buy one of those Modern Spares and look into switching tires when one finally can't be patched. This last patch might do no more than get me home. I cross my finger and say a little prayer on that one.

What other size tire have people used. I've read that the 205/65R16 is a decent alternative.

I believe there could be wheels that would fit even over the larger front brakes of an AWD model, but the safer option would be a 17 inch wheel.

I suspect that Camry wheels of the last decade or so could be good candidates and would use your current wheel nuts. I believe Sienna and Rav4 also have the same or similar offset.
