Featured 2026 Nissan LEAF Priced Under US$30,000

Having bought fully loaded Equinox EV 3RS below $30k earlier this year, I am not impressed with the new Leaf's price tag. But in fairness, I credit Nissan for keeping the model. I don't think they are making money on the car or are they? But Bolt coming back soon, and the SLATE coming soon, the competitions are out there.

Honestly, pricing the 2026 Nissan LEAF under $30,000 feels like a smart move from Nissan. EV adoption is still held back by affordability, so having a well-known model like the LEAF positioned in that price range could attract a lot of first-time EV buyers.

Of course, the big question will be how much range it offers at that price point. If Nissan can deliver decent mileage per charge while keeping the cost low, it might become one of the best budget-friendly EV options in the market. I’m also curious to see how it compares against competitors like the Chevy Bolt EUV or even the upcoming Tesla Model 2 rumors.

What do you all think—will this pricing strategy be enough to make the LEAF popular again, or does Nissan need to do more in terms of design and technology updates

 

Well, it depends on the market that would become interested in said vehicle.

One is the budget car crowd. However, the big need in the USA is a sub $20k car, not a sub $30k car.
Once you get above that $20k mark the car starts needing all this tech and performance stuff to be popular. So yes, it probably needs OTA tech updates and some sort of subscription dependent heated seats to be popular.
