I decided to add a little gentle color to my engine compartment. I painted the engine cover a light metallic blue. The paint is engine paint so it will tolerate the heat and chemicals. To do under the Toyota logo, I cut the welded plastic studs on it, painted, then re-melted the studs. I feel it makes the engine compartment look a little more alive.
Oh my, didn't know this existed, going to look now. Thanks! Edit: Just found a reddit with part numbers. So the covers are from the ct200h? Fascinating, I could paint them. Maybe I should get them and also paint my intake?
I’d stop. Inverter looks pristine as-is , and covers on reservoir bottles, look superfluous. what you’ve done so far looks good to me. if you have to do more, this is worthwhile imo: Question about underhood wiring | PriusChat
Thanks I’ll consider what you’re saying strongly. Also it’s a couple hundred to add the covers. Maybe I’ll polish the inverter carefully and lightly.
Following Mendel’s advice and not worrying about covering the inverter. Also plastic is an insulator and I wonder if it adds a couple degrees temp because some cooling always happens from heat rising. I sis take out the air intake and clean and spray it with silicon to restore the plastic. And other black plastic around the engine compartment. Looks cleaner and newer. More pristine.
