Any opinions? We appear to need a new A/c compressor. As the car is 20 yo I don't want to spend much. There's a few sellers on ebay that seem to have good feedback on reman compressors.
There are rebuilding facilities that can rebuild these electric compressors my volt has one all the Toyota hybrids have them the Teslas so it's not too much of the stretch if it's just cleaned off not so much . Personally I take them off used cars very 8 have 4 here . Will bet they all work . So I've not had the privilege to buy a remanufactured three or $400 one or whatever they sell for because the ones I have I guess worked so. It's like a 25 minute change it'll take you longer well it takes me longer to gas it up than it does put the compressor on or close to it . I don't have a recovery system so I try to get it right once.
So I'm about near free . Or very lil cash or trade . I haven't even bought a new actuator so far . All mine used or original . All over 300K now so we should be good
(Tombukt2: how do you evacuate the gas/liquid, without a recovery system? Atmosphere stylee?) I have a salvaged compressor (purchased for 80 american crowns) I plan to install soon, do you have a tip to avoid wild evacuation of the r134a? If so I would very much appreciate I am paying a local actor apx 80 usd for that job, atleast that’s my current plan.
Why not go straight to a used part instead? Compressors were pretty cheap the last time I looked in car-part.
Or free if getting other stuff . Usually mine empty by the time comp fails or the squirt that weezes out is not worth discussion it is 134A if my car it's Enviro temp can be released. And no vac needed if nee rec drier is going in and it is in mine . It's only approx once every 15 years or so here .
