    Hello :')

Today on the way to work I had my check engine light & Orange Triangle come on with the "Check Hybrid System" warning appear. I stopped and looked it up and said it was safe to finish the 5 minutes left on my drive to work. I live 15 minutes away from work and the light was still on on my way back home. About 12 minutes in and the power steering light came on and engine shut off. I panicked and since I was only 3 more minutes away from home I turned the car off and on again and it went back to how it was, about a minute later happened again so i turned off and on then successfully made it home.

I have a 2010 Prius Gen 3 with about 130K Miles on it. This car has been nothing but hell and problems for me and I don't know what to do. I am a college student and cant afford a incredibly expensive fix again. Is it safe to drive 10 minutes to my nearby Toyota dealership for them to look at it? I dont know what to do if it keeps shutting off and if it severely damages it every time. Any help or advice would be extremely appreciated!!!!

The dealership will connect a scanner to the car and check for trouble codes. If you do not have any warning lights on the dashboard when you take it to the dealership, they probably will not find and codes, and you will be charged ~$185 for the scan.

Tomorrow morning when the car is cold, try starting the car and see if you have any warning lights. If you do not have any warning lights, definitely do not take it to the dealership. If you do have warning lights, take it first to an auto parts store (Auto Zone, Advanced Auto, etc) for a free scan to check for the trouble codes and then post them here in this thread.

It sounds like you have had other problems with your car. Can you please describe what those were? The present problem may be related to the past problems.
