Easy to criticize, Boeing can do some stuff right:

I have two pensions from companies that have suffered poor management:
    • General Electric
    • Boeing
But both have (or have had) core engineering talent that made our world better. But like Musk demonstrated, management has a right to be wrong and work hard to screw everything up.

Sometimes physics and science leave only one, overall approach that works. Nicer when they acknowledge their source. Better when they pay patent royalties. I'm just glad there isn't just one following a path Boeing (and NASA) engineers led the way.

We can now steal back how they did it. <GRINS>

I once has a design document plagiarized. A poor manager wouldn't let me get it "signed off" so after changing managers to operations, I became part of the "review chain." The former manager hired an entry worker and had her put her name on the cover sheet. I had to "leave early" that day because having your work 'stolen' hurts and I needed time and space.

The next morning, I signed off the plagiarized documents and then made it a point to tell everyone else, "This is the most perfect design document I've ever seen. It could not be better if I'd written it myself!"

I tried to let the new hire know I bore her no ill will.
