You're going about this the wrong way. The car will decide to reduce acceleration and increase the engine RPM when it decides the hybrid system is compromised somehow. It will usually ALSO SIMULTANEOUSLY SET CODES THAT YOU CAN AND SHOULD READ! You should not be tearing down the pack to determine what's wrong; the system may reduce load on the NiMH battery without the battery also showing voltage discrepancies under no load.

Reassemble everything. Then, drive the car until you cause the failure again. Then, find a code-reader that can pull codes for you. The Android Torque or Torque Pro app can do it with an ELM327 implementation (VGate iCar PRO is one such implementation). A Toyota Techstream can do the same.

To rephrase: your original problem description, that the transmission appears to be slipping, and allowing higher revs and lower acceleration than expected -- that exact problem is *a decision made INTENTIONALLY BY THE CAR'S ELECTRONICS*. They will tell you why they are making the drivetrain behave differently. You only need to ask them with a tool that can communicate with them.

I did drove the car around for another week when it happened to trigger a code but nothing.

This is typically what happens when you don't have enough voltage or amps behind the volts etc it's like clutch slip in a reg car. I had a bunch of this as soon as my battery was right all that stopped immediately

Im going to try and clean all the terminals and connections. Hopefully it helps.

I am struggling to believe you aren't getting any codes or blink codes. How are you trying to retrieve error codes from the system?
