I've been thinking about getting moon disks on my Prius C for a few years now. I tried out some of the hubcap type, but they flexed a lot and kept popping off when I hit small potholes. Where I live & drive, those potholes are non- negotiable, and I don't want to deal with what happens when one of those falls off and skips/rolls into another car.

So, I've been moon-disk-less for around a year and a half. I don't quite dig the bare steelies look, though.

I've finally talked myself into ordering all the materials from the Moon website to get Dzus-fastened discs on, and am borrowing some tools (and experience) from some family to get the tires off, tabs welded on, and tires back on.

I'll update this thread once I'm through that process!

Oh, here's a preview of the jig I'll be using on the wheel: PXL_20250718_021833788.jpg

After losing one on the highway, I lined the inside edge of the steel wheels with a narrow strip of duct tape (halved in width with a pair of scissors). It gives the hubcaps' numerous 'teeth' something to bite into instead of the steel wheel's surface. I haven't lost one since and it also eliminated the creaking sound emanating from the wheels flexing against the 'teeth' when the car rolls along.

The only downside (and upside) is that the 'teeth' engage with the duct tape so well that getting the moon discs off requires the wrench-crowbar from the tyre-change kit for leverage, tearing out the duct tape too. Reapplying new strips of duct tape is a simple, roughly 10 minute job. Worth it, IMO.
