I remember a friends mom said she always bought Toyotas because she could drive it and fit. I think she was about 4'10". I had a friend that bought an aqua and regretted it. Not sad its not coming to America.

I kinda like the old Prius V. Perfect size for a taxi or today’s Uber.

I sure can. My cars up until I tried the Nissan Leaf and then got the Total Avalon were all quite small (1972 VW Super Beetle, 1985 VW Golf, 1993 Mazda 323). I really didn't mind the small size. If the price were right, I'd get a small car again. Everything today in the USA feels bloated and is expensive.

In the USA we have the Corola hybrid which is $7,600 more expensive. That's a couple hundred dollars more per month on a car loan. Last I looked, a 5-year-old Yaris with 50k miles was still going for $15,000 in the USA. Car choices here are pathetic.

I'm sad they don't sell them in the USA, we still love our Prius c. Eventually we will need to replace it and it is unfortunate that Toyota isn't importing these new ones.

@bisco I can't say I've tried this 2nd generation, but the 1st generation Aqua is pretty roomy inside. The ultra low profile center console helps a lot; you don't feel like you're constrained into a racecar cockpit like so many other cars these days. You can get your manspreading on. The downside is smallish and less-accessible cupholders, so if you're the sort who eats in the car and hauls a quart of coffee in an insulated stein it won't work for you.

Also these 2nd generation Aquas have pivoting front seats- they rotate towards the door to give a more graceful entry and exit:

Just too many rent seekers with their hands out these days.

It is false that cars are more expensive today than they were in the past. Car prices have been increasing below inflation.

For example, inflation since early 2008 is 53%. The price of a comparable Corolla has increased by only 40% in that period. Last but not least, the cars are much better today than ten years ago, and you get much for your money in terms of electronic safety, comfort, and fuel efficiency.

So, think again before you ask why they still don’t make $15,000 cars.

And I always imagined you to be a small guy. LOL

Gen 5 interior is ample by the way, despite the low roof.

it's important to correlate inflation or prices at a point in time with wages

i am small, but the comments i've seen about gen 5 (by people who owned a previous gen) sometimes lean toward very cramped descriptions.

i always considered the lift back prius to be a small car. to me, at 50 mpg, it didn't need to be any smaller
