Can anyone tell me how to designate an address as Home? I have checked the setting to "Show Home", but I cannot see anything showing this on the navigation screen, nor do I see any way to set the home location. It was easy on the gen 4.

Based on my anecdotal experience with navigation locations they are saved in two places maybe 3: Phone app, car navigation app memory, and Toyota navigation servers. I have noticed that the favorites and home locations I have saved in the app do not automatically sync with the car navigation locations and I have to save each individually. In addition from memory the locations do not save if either the phone or the navigation system are not connected to the internet at the time of saving. So my recommendation for saving a location in either locations would be as follows.

    1. Verify that either phone or in car navigation have an active internet connection.
    2. On either phone or car navigation system tap on the home location which will open a screen that says ‘set home location’
    3. Enter address, tap on it, and click save.

I have never seen this screen that says "Set the home location". By "tap on the home location", are you referring to the arrow that tracks your car's movement?

I can save favorites, just not able to set any of them s "Home".

On your phone home screen tap "find" on the bottom right of the screen.

    Than tap "Destinations."

    Than tap "home."

Thank you for all this detail. I was able to get it to work form my phone. But, failed in setting up the damn app on my wife's phone. I set up the account for her, and scanned the VIN code successfully, but when I tried to add the vehicle, it choked. It still wants another code entered, bit the car neither gives me a QR code, or an 8 digit code. The car says send it from the app. a stupid loop when nothing should be required as it already know the VIV. I could scream.

Again, thank you for your help. There seems to be a considerable following to his post so I suspect others are having this issue.

Again, all worked perfectly for myself, but I wasn't able to repeat this or my wife. I got conflicting messages. My when I tried to add a vehicle to her Toyota app (after entering the VIN), I got a message saying to either add a scan or enter an 8 digit code depending on the message on the multimedia display. I didn't get either message.

The message on the multimedia display says it was waiting for some thing from the app. Toyota Home 1.jpg Toyota Home 2.jpg Toyota Home 2.jpg

Also if you are trying to set up a digital key you need to download the Toyota app on the cellular network and not a home network.
