Heat shield?

    I drove around a roundabout / rotary. Heard a scraping noise.
    Looked back and saw this in the road...
    Certainly looks like a heat shield...
    BUT did it come off my Prius or was it in the road already?
    Because I was in a rotary I was watching incoming traffic,
    so it could have been in the road already & I simply did not see it ???
    IF it is from my Prius do I really need to replace it ?
    I have driven 4 days now and see zero difference?
    IF it was mine, was it above or below the exhaust system?

    the heat shield is there to protect flammable materials under the car from catching fire. if there is one above the cat, it is protecting the car.
    i would get it up on a lift and take a look. personally, i would replace it, but idk if everyone agrees.
