not that it's any comfort - but there are plenty of YouTube videos of trump sign vandals as well. Some of those sign maintainers are in protected mode as well. However one slices it, it's Hlhorrible behavior on both sides.

Side note, I see tideland locked out the Tesla stock thread - due to political shenanigans.

I think I can understand taking some care to avoid forming an intimate connection with a person whose fundamental values and fundamental actions are going to cancel and undermine and defile yours. (Yes, perhaps, I'm showing my age by thinking going on a date has much to do with forming an intimate connection.)

I'm all for more occasions in general for people to meet and talk and work toward civil discussion and mutual understanding. But it doesn't seem unreasonable to me if someone wants to draw a line at 'date'.

The harder and more tragic situations might be the ones where you've been with someone for years or decades with compatible values and then one person takes a giant zig.

Where I lived 30 years ago, there was a weekly radio folk music show, and once a year the host might devote a whole show to Civil War songs. A lot of those have very hauntingly beautiful melodies. Some also have very haunting images that will not leave you, a brother or a son lowering his rifle and recognizing the combatant he'd just felled across the ravine.

When I read quotes from influencers of today filled with some gleeful excitement at setting a new civil war in motion, I wonder if part of the problem is not enough Civil War songs getting enough airplay lately.

People being a little selective about whom to associate most intimately with doesn't feel like my biggest worry in the current grand scheme of things.

    That's what mods do.

    That too.

That raises the kindergarten head count to - what?
    six?

I made it a point to stay out of that cesspool as the election drew closer in case things go 'turbo' that next day, since I will be on my county arbitration board validating absentee ballots.
    (I've been non-affiliated since P42)
Frankly there's going to be thirty points (or more) of daylight between the candidates in the closest race, so I'm not worried about another subpoena, but I've discovered that I actually LIKE not going down there these days. :)

    So....
    One out.
    Two in.

......and may GOD have mercy on their souls!

I'm staying out of it. I seem to get in trouble every time I speak my mind.

FHOP_P is a place where you CAN speak your mind and trust me.....you're probably not going to get into trouble down there unless you threaten someone, or break the law.
    HOWEVER (comma!)
I cannot speak to Canadian law and I'm not licensed to give legal or financial advice.
If you come running out of there with tears streaming down your face - THAT is on YOU.

Back in the days when this forum was moderated more severely about the only way you could have a post in FHOP_P deleted would be to comment in the cartoon thread or perhaps attempt to prophesize.
Posts down here also have to be work-safe adjacent but other that that? (clicks = $)
I still hear whispers late at night around campfires about members being actually suspended for things that they posted but that was in the 'long ago.'

    Other than that?
What are they going to DO?
Banish your thread to FHOP_P??? :ROFLMAO:
Heck....you ALREADY have threads in FHOP_P.
You may as well read them.

You present as argumentative and fairly thin skinned.
    Me?
I think that you and FHOP_P are two great tastes that taste great together - and I think you should try it out.

    Don't worry.
The 'ignore user' function still works down there - so you can still squelch out some of the nastier posts. :)

    ...BUT.....

You STILL gotta ASK to go down there!
    And then?

May GOD have mercy on your soul......

By "trouble" I mean I often get chastised or banned.

If you're worried about 'being chastised' online then you should stop paying your internet provider - or maybe put everyone in this forum on your "ignore user" list.....

    As far as being banned?

    nah.
    Not down there......

Strange, I don't recall ever asking. But then, I can't remember what I had for breakfast half the time.

i didn't either. at some point, they started showing up in 'new posts', and have ever since. must have been one of the many screwy software updates.
priuschat is perfect for toyota, both have a lot of glitches and poor service
