My satellite radio has had good reception since I bought the car new in 2012, but recently has been showing “No Signal” and does not play (all other radio sources/functions work fine on the radio, the subscription is active, and satellite radio reception is otherwise good in my location). I have tried refreshing the signal several times to no avail. Sirius says to take the car to the dealer for a $136 diagnostic test. Before I do that I’d like to ask if anyone else has experienced this problem and what they did about it. I’ve thought about replacing the 7” screw-in mast, but want to know if there are quality options available in lieu of the $45 OEM replacement part from Toyota.
Same problem. I ordered an ebay antenna amplifier and hope it will work. Does the amplifier need to work for FM and AM? AM and FM work fine on my radio.
You need the oem antenna amplifier for your year and model. It is inside the base of the antenna. See pdf created when I changed my 2012 v years ago. The best way to find the part number is from an online Toyota dealer. There are three versions, one with am/fm only, a second adds satellite and the third add safety connect. Each version adds a mini coax.
THIS! I just replaced mine on my 2011 Prius and my satellite radio is working again after a few years of receiving the dreaded NO SIGNAL message on the satellite radio. 30-40 minute fix. Hardest part was trying to not over tighten the nut on the underside of the antenna. The replacement part is about $180 or so online and there are YouTube videos that show how to do it (link below).
