Yep! My CFO is a fan of this one, and don't tell anyone but so am I. No..... That's not a typo. They're about $7 at a physical store and deeply discounted if you prostitute yourself by getting into a toxic relationship with an entity like Publisher's Clearinghouse. Speaking of suckers at a card table....pay the $7 if you want to buy one!!! If you see a copy in a doctor's office or in a real estate office, hide it inside the tattered copy of Sports Illustrated or People and look for an article by Rick Bragg. It will, naturally, be towards the back of the magazine somewhere among the mobility scooter adds and those for adult diapers. I do not know what confluence of events took place to unite a southern humorist with a Pulitzer and a pink slip from the NYT.... with Southern Living magazine, but I'm pretty sure it involved a LOT of alcohol and and perhaps even a deck of cards. Bragg's articles or books will be on ANY respectable syllabus for a 101 class in US Southern Culture, and yes..... I know what you're thinking - but really. Physical magazines still exist in 2025. The US South does have a culture, and Rick Bragg really does write for SL. Why Fried Chicken Feeds The Soul Like No Other Southern Dish ....or.....AT LEAST he USED TO..... Who knows? They may have sobered up by now or payed off their gambling debts,
I never had seen the word proustite before, but it's real: Pretty, and with a nice setting on an elegant chain you could indeed proustite yourself. Still, I'm a little surprised it's a word any autocorrect would be likely to guess. Sigmund Freud [1930] Civilization And Its Discontents (James Strachey translation, 1961) I've really never read anything of Freud's firsthand (or, well, translated) until now.
