My 2016 Prius has started not activating the dome light when the door is opened. It’s obviously in the switch on the dome light as when a slight amount of pressure is applied the lights come on. Is this a common problem? And is there an easy fix?

Mine has this too. It’s in auto but no light. Tap on switch light flickers.

It could be either the door switch or dome lamp control switch. You'll need to isolate the issue first.
On my 2021 Prime, the interior lamps light up when I'm within 24 inches of the car with the FOB - with the dome lamp set for door. Don't know if that's the same on a 2016. You can remove and check the door switch for corrosion and loose connections.
There's a YouTube video on how to remove the dome assembly and clean the switch assembly contact points.

    Hope this helps......
