Source: South Korean workers detained in US raid arrive home - BBC News More than 300 South Koreans who were detained in a massive immigration raid at a Hyundai plant in the US state of Georgia have arrived back home. Their return comes as the country's president and Hyundai's chief executive have warned about the impact of the raid. … If I was shopping for an EV, the Hyundai Ioniq 6 would be a contender. Now, no loner an option. A successful ‘two-fer-one’: Chase off skilled, imported workers. B*tch slapped EV batteries. Devo is alive in the sociopath in Chief and his minions. Reflection, the first sustained nuclear chain reaction by an imported Italian. The first hydrogen bomb by another imported scientist. The Manhattan project funded by a letter from a Swiss-German imported physicist. For generations, we imported bright people and cheap labor. Now we get try the alternative. Bob Wilson
False binaries. If there were not 300 illegals in a factory then the raid would NOT have been that 'massive' 'eh? Nobody is denying the "E pluribus unum" thing, and many people, including myself, have been banging the drum for immigration reform. The modern-day slavery that is human trafficking needs to end!! PERIOD. FULL STOP. If the ROKs want to manufacture and sell cars in the US - then why not make them do so LEGALLY? Georgia mandates E-Verify for public employers, and for most private employers with 11 or more employees. This means that, at the very least, the "rhymes with Sunday" company was and probably IS criminally negligent. Folks in their head-shed need to be perp walked to court and somebody needs to open their eyes with a 7-8 figure fine. ...AND the US State Department needs to have a quiet word with their counterparts in Soeul about some possible redeployments for their security forces. AFTER ALL...... EUCOM is heating up lately, and I think it' time that all of THOSE service members spent their paychecks where they might be more appreciated.
They didn't have the proper documentation to be working in the US at the time ... pretty simple to understand. At Toyota all the Japanese Coordinators and Trainers were required to have the proper documentation when working in America - when we went to Japan to train and work we were required to have the proper documentation .... pretty simple. This situation is very easy to correct, and I am sure the South Koreans and Management at the Hyundai Plant have already corrected it. You and I don't know the situation or the circumstances - chances are this was not a random action they would have had good reason for going in there - you don't know if Hyundai hadn't been warned to straighten up that particular situation and hadn't responded. Regardless the Hyundai Ioniq 6 is an outstanding car and the rest of Hyundai's EV may be even better. To assign political, emotional and human like characteristics to a vehicle made out of plastic, metal, rubber etc is not emotionally mature. It is as cuckoo-for-coco puffs crazy as damaging someone's personal property (a Tesla for example) because of your political beliefs. You wonder what road our society is going down when it is okay to assign political beliefs to a car, Catholic children attending mass in a church or even a public speaker at a college because their views might randomly be assumed to be different than yours - not cool. Your better than that Bob - lets turn down the rhetoric and make America the type of place it was for our parents who listened and communicated with each other to make the country the best it could be for everyone.
Don't wait for an apology from anyone that twists the immigration issue so significantly. You kick the poor family illegally entering family out - & you are bad orange man. You kick out Multinational Corporation employees entering illegally you're bad sociopath. All that seems to be important is the other side - bad. You'd think after observation of cashless bail & a dozen releases for criminal activity & how badly it fails - that someone standing up for the law would be good, but nope. When it comes to crappy leadership on both sides, you make your choice and then live with it for 4 years.
When I first heard the term "cashless bail" I didn't know what it was. If found out it is misguided way to let criminal out of jail immediately when they are arrested with no bond????????? It (cashless bond) is illegal in our state. How is cashless bond a good idea under any circumstances?
Under the B-1 non-immigrant visitor's status, an employee of a foreign corporation coming to the US, paid by that overseas corporation to supervise the installation of or to install equipment or other such goods, is authorized to do so under the Immigration and Nationality Act. The I.C.E. agents were apparently poorly trained and lacked knowledge of this provision.
presuming the company put in for these employees status? You know what they say about people that presume ....... Our work group from Disney would have been kicked out of Japan if the employer failed to file paperwork. It works both ways my friend
