Is there a way to find out how many miles was done on the electric battery only and how many miles was done on the engine itself for the lifetime of the vehicle?
it may be in the black box, but that is only available to toyota. there isn't anything for the driver in gen 3
On a plug-in; there's usually a % of battery, EV vs HV operations buried in the user menu screen somewhere. I haven't seen a UK menu option, but that's how a gen4 is laid out. You'll need to extrapolate from there to get a ball-park number. One thing to note; If the aux. battery is disconnected that historic % will restart at zero again - at least on the software on this side of the pond. You should also be able to manually reset the calculations to zero - I accidentally did that while exploring all the menu options on mine. Hope this helps.....
Would have been interesting data to see. See actual "wear" on engine. Unfortunately don't own a plug-in but good to know for future ref. Thanks.
Wasted extra curricular reading on my end also. Might as well get some 4thb and 5th gen Prius feedback also.
Well knowing what I know now of hybrids if there was a way to determine engine vs battery mileage (i.e. wear) it may have swayed my choice of car when purchasing. These are my assumptions: A Prius which would have been used as an Uber/Taxi etc would mainly be driven shorter distances and lower speeds (for the UK anyway in London) so would assume higher battery wear as opposed to engine. On the other hand a Prius driven to work several miles away daily on the motorway would have a greater engine wear as opposed to the battery? Think the data would be good to know for second hand vehicles.
