Source_2: Daily Automotive News DANGER SIGN: U.S. HD TRUCK SALES PLUNGE There’s a lot of uncertainty about the future of the U.S. economy because of tariffs, and here’s a danger sign. Heavy truck sales started dropping in May, a month after President Trump announced the tariffs. Last month, Class 4 through 7 retail trucks fell more than 28%. Industry experts say that’s because there’s been a drop in freight shipments and they blame the tariffs for that. And for the full year, sales are down about 7-8%. These truck sales can be considered a leading indicator of what lies ahead for the economy, and this doesn’t look good. Bob Wilson
Supply & demand. We got our ¾ ton HD just in time as it was maybe 25% below market. Raise the prices people stop buying. They were very overpriced. Soon the vice versa will happen.
Those are delivery sized trucks that move goods to depots or retail. Like watching trains or shipping/port manifests, it is the pulse of a consumer economy. Bob Wilson
This is not just a truck problem this is the entire US economy because we have a braindead convicted felon pretending to be king rather than president and a Supreme Court that is setting the US constitution on fire with their support for him. I mean he literally fired the head of labor statistics for telling the truth about how he's destroying the ecomony. And how about the 475 workers from South Korea who were detained by ICE for helping Hyndai set up a factory in the US in the state of Georgia. Those South Koreans were sent here to train thousands of US workers to run the factory. Meanwhile the idiot in chief is now saying they're welcome to stay if they want because he realized he screwed up and they're like why would we ever trust you again? And given the choice to stay or go home, they all went home. And all those jobs are now gone and the billions Hyundai was going to spend in the US to build cars has now turned into Hyundai breach of contract lawsuits so they can minimize the losses and get out of the financing they lined up. Or how about the billions of dollars other countries spent buying food from our farmers that was already planted last Spring when these unconstitutional tariffs by the president with one signature from his pen made all those farmers bankrupt and no one to sell their food to? So f-ing sick of the level of stupid this is! It seems that when people voted last November too many really dumb people thought they could vote for a reality without consequences and nobody faces tougher consequences in life than people who think they'll always avoid the consequences of their actions.
Medium Class Commercial trucks sales are down. It's the end of Democracy and the World as we know it.
