    Walking the Shiba up our cul-de-sac yesterday afternoon, saw this beast in a neighbor's driveway. My wife caught up with me (she invariably spots weeds on our lawn, falls behind), and I cautioned her: "if they're home, sitting outside (as they often are), say NOTHING about the vehicle, ignore it. Let's see who blinks first".

    The husband works for nearby GM dealership, typically drives a white GMC pickup, but occasionally get a loaner/demo car for a ride, maybe while his truck is in for service.

    Man the C7 ZR1 was a monster. I watched a Hagerty video on both the C7 and the C8 ZR1's, and it was unbelievable how much the mid engine affected the ability to put power down. On a unprepped drag race, the C8 was consistently three car lengths ahead of the C7 since it just LAUNCHED. By the time the C7 was done spinning its wheels it had no chance. Obviously though they are track cars, and in that respect they were much closer in performance, with the exception of the C8 being actually kinda difficult to fishtail, and the C7 quite easy.

    I'm good with that. There will always be something faster, prettier and newer. I do consider myself lucky though. I have a Trophy Wife, a Trophy Car...and both are high mileage daily drivers. ;)

    I'll see newer Corvettes on the road semi regularly, but there is a white C3 around the block from me. Appears to be in good shape.

    Spotted a light blue, retro Thunderbird on my travels. Plus a kei van being trailered.

    Ok a really obscure one yesterday. I had no idea what it was. A friend had to AI image search for it.

    Paykan (also known as the Hillman Hunter). Apparently an Iranian car built as recent as 2005 even though its roots are from the 1960s as the British Rootes Arrow sedan.

    Also saw my first A6 e-tron liftback.

    I'm back in L.A. for business. I saw a 1976 Cadillac El Dorado cruising north on the 405. Wasn't pretty but made a good reminder that California is easy on cars.

    I also spotted a Corolla iM, those really were monsters of value & utility. No wonder Toyota stopped bringing them in!

    It was an Auris. Production of which ended in 2018 in Toyota's move to consolidate models. It and the Avensis were replaced by the new Corolla. The Auris sold in Tiawan for a few years after 2018 was a rebadged Corolla.

    A few cool spots lately while visiting Los Angeles on business:

    • An early 1970s Mercedes sedan in decent condition, being transported on a 1970s Mercedes LP-series towtruck which itself was in spotless show condition.

    • A Boeing-Stearman PT-17 biplane, departing KVNY 16R

    • A large charging yard next to a US Post Office, set up to recharge about 50 electric postal delivery vans. Only a couple of vans actually in the yard charging at the time- maybe that means all the others were working?

    That was a good reminder! Driving up from Utah through Missoula after the murder, they now have a massive Amazon warehouse in tons of EV vans there.
