Hey everyone I had a shop install new component speakers along with an amp and sub but they did an awful job at it. I had some free time and I reversed everything they did. Only issue is the front door speakers aren't turning on what so ever I took a multimeter to the harness on the back of the radio where the front speaker wires end up but its showing no voltage what so ever. I even changed out the radio but still nothing. I checked the fuses as well and all of them are good. I checked the harness as well and none of the pins are bent They did cut the factory wires at the kick panels but I crimped them back together but if anyone can give me clues then that'll be great. 2005 Prius 250000 miles Non Jbl No navigation
Just curious, why you thought it was bad. A little more info would help: 1. Aftermarket or stock radio? 2. Was the amp just for the sub, or did it also power your OEM speakers (like a 5/6 channel amp)? 3. If OEM radio, how did they send signal to the sub - with an adapter/RCAs, or the amp had high power inputs? 4. Did you actually test voltage at the read head of the radio, or at the cut wires in the kick panels. I can’t think of any reason the front speaker outputs would be dead unless the wires we’re misidentified, or the re-wire is incorrect and burned them out. if you’re testing at the lick panel, they might have cut the wires further upstream to intercept the signal. Some audio shops may do that to save time and not unravel the whole harness. You may want to test the circuit from the back of the head to the cut wires.
