It's getting to the roots that always fascinates me. Bous in Greek is apparently a cow (hence also bovine) and kolos something like to cultivate; a boukolos is someone who 'cultivates' cows: a cowherd.

entomology of the word is Jewish. Kind of not well known unless you're more familiar with the culture. Similar to the Jewish cultural word, 'schmekel' . Decades ago I was at a giant state funded wedding for a couple in Mexico City that were mostly jewish. At our table I asked what that word meant and it didn't seem to be too traumatic to anyone that I had asked

Doesn't that only apply to words with exoskeletons?

Did the same. Vent to the outside with a fan continuously running.

I'm guessing it is for a commercial truck, and has the ability to provide info for a third axle or trailer. The clock dividing up the blocks is awkward, but only one has a front. The pressure in those tires could be over 100psi; 97 is on the low end from a search.

Commercial aircraft tire pressures typically range from 150 to 200 psi. If one of those vents, be far away.

Just spent $1300 USD to keep up with Microsoft. GRR. The 15-year-old HP desktop I bought refurbished from Woot 12 years ago is still fine and I am using it now.

It's the Windows 10 thing. On Oct. 14, apparently all Windows 10 computers vaporize -- or maybe just schlep away. I did not verify, but "heard" in Europe, a Windows 10 update that costs $30 in USA is free in Europe and will keep your box running "safely" for another year.

Windows 10 end of life is one week away — take action NOW | Windows Central

So, read Kris' post here about this and decided she had a good idea about an All-in-One computer. Wife has continually complained about our 20" monitor. Ordered a $1300 HP AIO setup from Costco. Arrived DOA.

Back to Costco where they quickly and merrily refunded my cash (which is why I bought it there). I knew that particular unit had a rep, and Costco has easy returns for 90 days on computers. Decided not to try my luck again.

Now, on Amazon Prime Day(s), just ordered a Dell SFF (that's small form factor -- SFF -- a small desktop) from Dell. It's the QCS1250, Ordered a monitor from Amazon (amazon was touting the monitor as a huge Prime Day discount at $157 USD, but it was marked down to the same price at Dell (from $250 USD).

Would have ordered both from Dell, but Dell is a pain to try to return anything and Amazon does not support customizing the computer and their pre-builds did not meet my specs.

I got a couple of pints of DOT3 brake fluid. More appropriately, being Canadian, two 473 ml bottles:

for the last 40 years or so, NOBODY in Canada has been able to comprehend volumes.

I have no evidence that Americans understand our non-SI system any better.

Planes have run outa gas too, due to imperial/metric confustion.

Drafted/checked in industrial setting, and steel detailing: don't get me started about metric conversion nightmares. Even within one system, stuff can be maddening:

Reclaim tunnel under a stockpile started out as 1/4" in 12" pitch, then some joker decided to convert to 1.193589 degrees (approx) would be better. I was walking around, petitioning various Materials Handling department guys as to where in hell this odd angle came from, and one of our structural department draftsmen happened to be within earshot, mentioned it might have been that 1/4 per 12. Talking hiding the light under a basket...

Or a plant site plan, where there was initially ONE coordinate, and the rest of the components (largely conveyers and transfer towers) were located by bearings, distances and angles. The surveyors (reasonably) asked for more intersection coordinates, which were added. Then our checker decided this was "double dimensioning", got all the bearings/distances/angles removed. The steel detailers dutifully took the only info we gave them, and conveyors were coming into buildings at 89.996 degrees. :)

Guess I got started again.

like everything, two systems are much less efficient than one. i started a standard mechanics tool set from sears.
then i bought an mg. now i have to re arm with metric.

we're still on ounces/pints/quarts and gallons, but every time i get medical orders, i have to convert eveything.
we should have just switched when we intended to. now, it's just a cluster*%#!
