Vision Zero started in Sweden, and didn't start gaining much foothold the U.S. until achieving some success in Europe.

I notice that you speak almost entirely on driver training and enforcement, almost nothing on vehicle design, and entirely nothing on road and systems design. You are missing much of the issue.

As initially stated in my community, their "Zero" target is simply impossible, according by other quality control approaches I've been exposed to. But if you can get past that, then I see a lot of usefulness in their approaches.

Here is their basis for claiming paths to 3/4ths reduction in deaths. I suspect some over-optimism and double-counting, but that still leaves a huge savings of lives and severe injuries, and pathways to to identify more.

Can you name one product I can currently buy with a solid state battery? Just one? Is that too much to ask for?

I'm not quite ready to believe the fantastic claims that solid state batteries afford a potential 100X increase in charge density, but even a small increase would be a gamechanger. Liquid fuels contain vastly more energy density, but they are also woefully inefficient; the best of which might approach 40% efficiency. Electrics, on the other hand, are over 90% efficient, and if/when combined with high energy density batteries, would be a decisive gamechanger.

I don't believe there are any consumer products with solid state on the market yet. Some medical devices use them like pacemakers but those are a very different chemistry than used in cars. For the type cars may use there were some camera's launched in space and some drones like aerodrone cargo dual use drones that have them. It is real technology, but current implementation is for where lower weight and size outweigh the added costs.

I believe the lower cost lithium iron phosphate (LFP) batteries are already the game changer. These are already small enough and light enough and have long enough life for long range BEVs. Solid state has the potential for lower costs and size but they are still much more expensive. It takes time. 2027 is soon, I expect that these would add at least $10K to the cost of a 300 mile (EPA) bev over a lithium Nickle cobalt chemistry and it would still be a heavy vehicle.

Personally I wouldn't buy any of these products right now. I can find alternatives that cheaper and better. Found them on Amazon, but, just couldn't tell myself these are better than what the market already has for a lower price point.

Mighty impressive, winning "the race" when all participants haven't even yet approach the starting line of the race.
