After I shut off, open door, lock doors, get out, and close doors, the car beeps at me 9 times. What is my 2024 Prius Prime SE trying to tell me? Since it never helps, how can I turn off this alert?
no idea, low 12 volt? fob battery? dome or hatch light on? anything in the manual? you're in the gen 4 prime forum. try gen 5 for more eyeballs hopefully.
Didn't put the vehicle in park? Lights set to ON instead of AUTO mode? Left keys in the car? Something left sitting on the front or rear passenger seats?
Maybe try shut-off car, open door, get out, shut door, lock it. There's a yellow caution triangle that flashes if window are partially open or something else unexpected it needs to warn you about. I'm just guessing but the multiple beeps are probably telling you the car isn't fully locked and the alarm isn't armed. Ask the dealership, if you don't want to look it up...... If you didn't shut-off the car, it'll do something similar to that. YMMV
If you have something on the rear seat sensor or the rear seat belts are fastened - it's telling you to check. That's to prevent the dozen or so kids that die on the back seat of a car, because parents forgot they were there.
SOLVED: My wife had the second key fob in her purse. When she left the purse (and key fob) in the car, it warns me, even though my key fob is out of the car and the doors are locked. We returned the spare key fob to the house, where it resided before we took a trip in the car and took the extra key fob in case the primary fob was lost.
You can keep the spare fob in a fariday bag; that'll block the signals from the second FOB. Open the bag and the car will recognize the second FOB.
You can also put the key in battery-saving mode. Press unlock twice while holding lock. Confirm that the indicator flashes four times. That should stop it responding to the car until the next time you press a button to wake it up again.
