Series leading to ‘World Series’ are underway now without Yankees, to the pleasure of @bisco. I was recently in Japan and hotel TV showed domestic pro games. Large stadiums were completely occupied beyond what US teams could hope for. Pricing and food offerings not known. But most notable were goofs by both sides, and one did not need to stay tuned for long to see them. A few stellar players become US pros, but for most, oh my gosh. -- Meanwhile LA Dodgers might repeat this year, but they need pitching to cover for hitting coolness. Shotei!
Are Mariner's stirring up excitement on the other side of the Pacific Rim? They've always been the most Asian fan supported US MLB team... As for me, Mariner's have been the most unsuccessful team in US pro sports history in the past 48 years until now. In past couple-few decades they've been owned by greedy corrupt owners that have refused to put team success over profits, with majority of ownership coming from Nintendo executives... I used to be a huge fan and never missed a game but in past few years I've been tweeting about boycotting them and refusing to watch their games because they refused to spend on the best players and were constantly ripping off fans and employees. But then something amazing happened and they might not lose another game this season and become world champions? Seems like it... So weird. What would make me most happy is if they really did win it all and sleazeball ownership group would sell the team for record amounts and GM would leave the team to take an offer he couldn't refuse being a GM for another team. To take all that trash out and be World Champs at the same time would be a dream come true. I might even be a Mariner's fan that doesn't miss a game again if that happened.
