Seeing if anyone near Philadelphia PA wants to save my Prius from the scrap yard. Cash for cars guy is offering $600 picked up no questions asked. bought it in 2019 totaled with 146k, front end damage. Repaired it myself and passed inspection got a rebuilt title. Haven’t done any of the major things talked about on this thread like egr cleaning, just give it the Italian tune up on the highway to keep things clear. Six years later it’s got 263k and the head gasket and water pump is failing. Still runs but misfires constantly. Started with only misfiring on cold starts. Water pump occasionally shuts off and it overheats and I needed to pull over and let it rest until it would restart. Sometimes pulls “check hybrid system” and clearing the codes with dr. Prius gets it to start up again. interior is a bit scratched and dirty. Has JBL Sat Nav and solar roof package. It eats oil and drinks coolant but they haven’t mixed yet. has body damage throughout and needs four tires to pass inspection. I’ll let it go for $500 to a good home promising to fix it, otherwise it’s $600 for scrap.
8.5k for an engine, some accessories, tires. paint and body work and you can save the solar roof and rebuilt title. Assuming the hv battery and brake booster are ok.
