I have this clunk sound that is coming from the shock itself. Sounds like a collar is loose in inside. I can make it happen just by rocking the car side to side. I have torn apart the inner trunk area, taken the wheel liner off and searched everywhere. It sounds for sure like the inside of the shock. How hard is it to replace? I can not imagine I'm the first one to have this? I made a video of this but could not upload it to my message nor create a link since it's my first day. I uploaded it as a zip file if anyone wants to hear it.
I just "searched" and saw there is a TSB on the rear shock nuts. Are these inside the shock? I read the TSB pdf but no pictures where the nuts are. The bottom nut don't seem loose and the top side has 2 bolts for the support bracket onto the body. I found through searching the repair manual but the part number for the nuts int he TSB are not in the repair manual. It looks like maybe it's the nut on top like this picture? The shock has to come out or can this be done with the bottom of the shock in the car still? I searched it online but don't see that number in the parts schematic either. 94130-61200
Only 15 minutes allowed to edit a post? 1) Do I need to buy new ones or can I just tighten the old ones? Obviously cost is not a problem. 2) Does the shock have to come out or can this be done in the car? Do I need a jig to hold something while tightening?
