I managed to tear the screen protector without damaging the screen (an alu pipe did that, enough said). Been looking for a replacement part, something, but I'm most likely not using the proper wording. What's the part or an alternative and how do I fix this?

I keep finding these "digitizer" parts. Is that what that part looks like? I thought it was just a piece of plastic, nothing electronic.

Update again. Took the screen out and it's 100% the digitizer. I ripped off the piece of plastic and it seems like I damaged some electric connectors as well - the digitizer looks pretty but doesn't work anymore. If you need to take the plastic off at least try heat to see if you can undo the glue or cut it with an exacto or scisors.

I found the digitizer on aliexpress and ebay - now I'm weighin the costs of replacing it or getting a 3rd party NAV which can display the maps.

PS: looking at the cable, the numbers of wires seems off. Checking now more in detail.

Good luck convincing him on that. He had a post with the rule that no one reply for him to read the check engine light codes and provide him the fix. He reiterated that over and over.

At Toyota parts, the head unit for 6 inch is: 86804-47110 . The picture has it right.

Why not replace just the digitizer?

I'd go the cheaper easier way, replace the whole car....

So here's the thing. I bought this 16 (Canadian) bucks piece, and it fixed the issue.

Next time you want to discourage someone, I want you to take a look into the mirror and think seriously that maybe you are the problem and not the person in front of you. Still waiting an answer to my question, but since you gave none, willing to bet you're full of shit as I never had the check engine on.

"And then he started swinging a bat".

My bad. Someone insisted on being an donkey, got riled up, I was reading every reply in assholeish subsequently.

Believe me, I completely understand. Not a problem..... (y)

It's why I use the ignore function for the know it all's and jerks....
Finding those parts is the hardest part.

My brother and I are looking for a glove box latch for a 97 Jetta. I'm possible!
A friend of his is going to try and 3D Print one....
