The under engine splash shield has given up on my beloved Prius Two after 228,000 miles. I ordered a replacement, not OEM, from Amazon. It's pretty flimsy, and this has apparently led to it flopping and pulling the push pins out and the shield dragging on the ground.

Good news/bad news: When I heard the shield dragging, I mistook it for a failed front wheel bearing or brakes finally getting down to metal. Neither (good news) is the case. Bad news is I need to replace the shield (again). Another win for the quality of Toyota vehicles. After 230,000 miles virtually no issues with this car including suspension, brakes, hybrid system, engine, etc. Just regular fluid and filter changes.

The Amazon unit came without push pins, but I had some in a kit I have on hand. Here is the Amazon link for information:
    I do not recommend.

Anyone have a suggestion for a good aftermarket replacement? The OEM is nearly $250. Or is it OK to leave it off in the Southern Arizona (Ehrenberg) climate (rain frequency = 8 to 10 times per year.
