Good question. Intuitively, yes,but i must admit I have not been paying much attention before or after. Handlig, especially cornering is noticeably better. The car feels nicely planted.
yes. I'm not a fan of the current short sidewall fashion, but for the 215 I'd consider anything taller "overkill".
Also, nice pics of your reservoir blue Prius. Mine currently is on a ship off the coast of North Carolina.
Is the Prius V the wrong offset? The bolt pattern is correct and not shared with the Gen IV regular Prius. I gave my 5x100 Prius wheels to a neighbor with a Corolla and have looked at Prius V 5x114.3 wheels for winter tire use.
AWD???? In a - PRIUS??? especially a G5 PRIUS??? FWD is worth more to ME. No contest. It means fewer potential maintenance issues, and more likely to be driven by a cost-conscience owner who might have actually lifted the hood and checked their own oil by themselves every now and then. MAYBE even as often as the owner's manual tells them to. AWD doesn't bring enough additional capability to the game for a small, low slung eco-hatch to be worth the squeeze in my never to be humbled opinion.
Thanks. If you mean the ones in my pics, they are the standard rims that come with the 17" wheels minus the abs wheel covers.
@reservoirblue - looks like you put center caps on the wheels to cover the hubs. Where did you get them/do you have a part # you can share?
I just did a search on TireRack.com . Selection of 195 60 17 tires is minuscule in comparison to 215 55 17... and the 215's are cheaper too. Unreal.
Yes, there's two drain/fill plugs on that little electric motor back there. Let me look at my maintenance notes: In my 2021, the top fill plug is easy to get to but the drain is NOT...ended up buying a long (8-inch) 10mm hex to be able to reach in there. Then, just refill with Toyota WS, takes about 1.4 Qts. I hate those pumps so just stuck a long hose in there with a funnel and poured it in from the right side of the car. I did mine at 26,000 miles but it wasn't even close to dirty will do future changes every 40,000 miles. Hey, she's almost due! It's the same funnel/hose I use for Prius transmissions...feed it down next to the firewall in the engine bay. You'll need two crush washers, 90430-A0003.
Thanks for the explanation. Concur about pumps: if practical, feeding in a tube with funnel is my choice; gravity is very reliable.
