So… I did a stupid thing. Feel free to yell at me for being an idiot but also please help me to fix this:

2010 Prius. I replaced the clock spring and I was trying to calibrate the steering angle sensor as it shows to be -850 degrees off.

So in me finagling the system I got to the ABS stuff and “reset the memory”

Ever since I get the ABS/brake/circle with exclamation point on.

I followed some tutorials on YouTube to see if I can reset. No result.

Can someone point me to what is the correct procedure to reset these lights and ABS system?

I currently have no ABS or regenerative braking and the brake feels stiff

Please keep in mind there is nothing mechanically wrong with the braking system

I have techstream version 16.xxx and can only run in offline mode

    Thanks

I believe you need to set the linear valve offset. Clear the codes with your scanner after you read and write them down and see what comes back.

We can be more help if you tell us why the warning lights are on. Then we know what to suggest to fix that.

The easiest way to find out why is to use a scan tool that can show you those trouble codes, but if you don't have that, you can get the codes this way:

Use Techstream to do a Health Check, and then post all the trouble codes listed as "current".

My 2006 Prius had all the brake system warning lights come on after a low 12V battery. I had a tire shop do a reset which didn't work and I did the paper clip reset several times and the lights would come right back on. I got a left rear brake system failure code and that brake was totally inactive. I pulled all the wheels off and inspected the brakes including removing the rear drums. No leaks, everything looked good and the adjusters were working. Tried bleeding the right rear brake and fluid came out nicely with the pedal depressed with a reversed carpentry clamp but nothing came out of the bleed screw on the left. Toyota wanted $165 per half hour just to read the codes which would not included reseting the ABS computer. I had a friend come over with a $600 Autel scanner and he followed the brake system recalibration procedure with a reset and it is all fixed. Lights never came back on, the left brake is working and the ABS system on a simulated panic stop activates properly with the skid icon light coming on when it is pulsing. Oh I forgot; I tried 4 cheap OBD2 scanners from Amazon and none of only one of them would read the code and none would do the recalibration.
