    FYI - POST

For anyone who wants to try putting their satellite antenna on the roof instead of inside it is quite easy to route the wire and have done this on many cars in the past with no water issues.

All you need to do is route it under the weather stripping around the hatch, then once at the bottom make a small niche in the metal edge under the seal with a dremel or some tool. Be sure to smooth off the edges so you don't cut into the wire housing.

Then run the wire through this slot and replace the rubber stripping.

    Attached are some pics.

It's easier to just route the wire under the rubber boot that holds the wiring from the hatch. You can use black electrical tape to hold the antenna wire in place at the bottom of one of the rubber boots.

    Hi!

I saw this suggestion and it worked well for me...

Attach the antenna about a foot above the right hinge for the hatch... route the wiring under the edge of the hatch weathergasket, all the way down to the taillight. Remove the taillight assembly and route the antenna wire thru the taillight holes.

There is plenty of wire left to route it between the trunk liner and the right rear quarter panel, all the way down to the rear passenger seat (where the 'built-in' XM radio module is located).

    Good Luck!

I installed a small sat antenna internally right underness the dashboard near the navigation antenna hole. The reception is always excellent with no signal drop offs at all.
