The climate control system seems to demand a cabin temperature that it will try to maintain. Is it possible for the system to just bring outside air into the cabin, without reference to trying to achieve a particular temperature? Sorta the equivalent of opening the windows. Whatever is out there, that’s what you get.
We can do that in our car by adjusting the temperature setpoint to below the ambient outside air temperature and then pushing the A/C button to make the light go out, indicating that it won't use air conditioning.* Then set the fan to whatever is needed. I'm not sure yours will be the same, but I bet it will be at least close. *There are a few special circumstances where the car can silently re-engage the A/C to satisfy some temporary condition, but there are other threads about that. Personally I've never noticed or cared.
^ Yep, that should place your HVAC system into manual mode. I usually just drop my temp. to LO and make sure the AC lamp is OFF.
Mine is not a truly manual mode. On long winter drives, I can bump up the temp. setting and it'll warm the incoming air to that set point. Move the set point back to Lo, you'll get chilly outside air again.
