I saw this on a video and tried it. It does indeed work from inside the house to the garage. Fan was on high. But I had temp to off, and non-auto default. I'm guessing it wants to cool or heat your car off in a hurry. I didn't experiment, because, you know, carbon monoxide, lol. What's the story on this? I haven't seen it in the manual. (An accidentally triple tap might not be good.)
