We have an 07 that's been sitting with a bad head gasket for about a year now. I FINALLY got it towed to somewhere I can work on it. So, initially I assumed the hybrid battery, having been sitting for a year, would've been completely depleted and need a few charge/discharge cycles and a voltage balancing. But I may need it for some engine side things, so I didn't want to just assume and rip it out. The modules read roughly 6.5 volts, maybe 0.02 deviation. I know the actual meter voltage isn't necessarily what matters, I have no way of knowing how the capacity and discharge are unless I pull it out and do more invasive testing But based on this, would it be worth it just leaving it in there and letting the system charge it when I get the engine back up? Or would it be better to just pull it out and cycle it manually? There is some buildup on the module terminals/bar so I may end up pulling that off and cleaning it anyway, but I don't know if that's exactly an indication of the pack's health. We had absolutely ZERO battery related problems with this car before this. No codes, no lights, no warnings, no symptoms. So I'm more or less inclined to think it's fine, just dead. I'm waiting on Techstream to get here though so I will probably have some more specific data later on. But I don't want to risk running it if one or two of these modules end up crapping out in 3 months.
