Yeah, but the bookkeeping is a lot simpler using cash, and easier to sleep at night. Plus, there can be clever close-out charges.

I don't want to sell you my car, just posted to show you the KBB depreciation on a real Toyota to counter your claim. Were I to try and sell this car it would be gone in 4 hours for cash just like my last 5. Condition and documentation.

Unless there is a significant benefit to me and my use cases of a new model, this could be my last car. With my fanatic overly maintained care, it will get many more years of life than I will.

New they are even more new but the depreciation is wicked fast .

Even though Mazda supposedly averages to about the same quality as Toyota or Honda despite still having rust, fuel economy and grinding transmission issues on PHEV models.

Considering Mazda and Mitsubishi lack a dealer network it makes new vehicle ownership problematic considering all the new car problems that need a warranty these days

Our son's 2018 CX-5 just incurred close to 3 grand CDN repair cost due to various oil leaks. It's got around 135k kms. A little disheartening. Dealership did a good, thorough job, and undercut his more nearby dealership significantly. But at no point did they remark this was unusual, seem like a regular repair for them.

I think we both probably agree on the exact same truths.

But no, I never meant that Toyotas depreciate only 1% per year, nor did I mean you are selling your RAV4.

If you don't mind ignoring my two previous posts that are full of metaphors and hyperboles, my point is this and this only:

Used Toyotas are a terrible deal for the used car buyer.
