Prius Prime Infotainment alternatives

Hi guys,

So I just purchased a Prius Prime 2017 with JBL - only to be baffled by the crappy infotainment.

I worked for 8 years for a company that did the navigation units for some Toyota models and asked a friend that was the head developer - it seems that they were on a different project - not EnTune.

I've seen many YT tutorials on how to replace the HU however I have a few questions:

- are there any functions that will not be available ? I see that most of the car functions are controlled from the steering wheel knobs.

- is the JBL audio dependent in any way by the HU (except the audio input) ? I'm worried that the new HU will have a lower volume output.

AFAIK, any 2DIN HU will work - please correct me if I'm wrong.
