Every time I get a new phone, I never know if I’ll run into another pairing issue. I pair the phone, it works fine for that drive, but the next time I start the car it won’t connect. When I check the paired devices, my phone is gone and the old pairings are back.

I’ve tried everything: deleted all pairings, turned Bluetooth off and back on, but the old phones reappear. I’ve updated the system, cleared all personal data, disconnected the battery, changed phone names, and even gone through the service menus. Nothing fixes it.

I don’t want to have to pair my phone every drive. This happened a few years ago too, and then one day it just started working again—I have no idea how or why. Has anyone actually found a permanent fix? I see plenty of people reporting the same issue, but no real solution.

The source of the problem I suspect is that since they put bluetooth in your vehicle 14 years ago, a more modern version of bluetooth is going to have a more complex communication protocol that's more secure. What's your primary use when you pair your phone to your car? Hopefully it's related to the sound system and speakers and all you need to do is buy a new stereo for the car so its just as new as your phone.
