Thanks for all your help its very appreciated. Gathered up all the parts and tools for the head gasket replacement and will start tackling that this week as soon as I get through the videos and sticky notes of the forum.

Since they don't sell the sub assembly parts im going to go ahead and order Toyota 25620-37120 Valve Assembly, EGR W/MO (website is just a reference to the part). I'm pretty sure by the diagram and "W/MO" in description it includes the motor part, Am I correct?

I'm still wondering if the rewire has anything to do with it, maybe it is sending a faulty signal through the system and along with a a damaged ski jump do-hickey it is enhancing/escalating the problems.

The most important part is to get it done asap.

    Thanks again.

See if you can find the 04xxx- part number of a kit that includes that valve, it may save you a chunk of change. There should be several threads around here that mention it.

Toyota sometimes will put a part and related parts, like gaskets, into a 'kit' with its own number, and price it lower than the thing by itself.

I was able to find one on ebay with the 04,xxx. thank you that saved a bit of money.

A bit of change of subject here, I am trying to remove the oil filter cap. I do have the oil cap socket fits over the whole thing and has the notches. Either the last oil change drive thru shop put back the wrong one, did damage because its very rounded and a chunk missing out of it, they welded it shut or combination of. Just up on wheel ramps and not enough clearance for the breaker bar. I have the big wrench on it, really push on it hard and it jumps out. Tried tapping the wrench with a rubber mallet but the socket just falls off. I mean I am putting a lot of force on it and just doesn't budge.

I know they can warp and I do have the aluminum on deck but damn this is frustrating. Any tips?

** Was able to get it loose. With a shop towel in between filter and wrench I wedge a 1x1 piece of wood to hold it in place. Had to really force it free.
