Hi everyone. I am just curious. Has anyone done conversions, or seen someone driven a CNG POWERED hybrid vehicle? Is there any link for such tasks done, or articles available? A CNG powered hybrid vehicle, would be a game changer, just like fuel cell vehicles have been, if they mass produced them . Thank you
Never seen a CNG hybrid. The people up the street have (or at least had, have not seen it recently) the CNG variant of the Honda Civic, which also has a hybrid variant for the same model year. Honda Civic GX - Wikipedia The CNG tank is apparently in the trunk, the hybrid pack on that car is behind the vertical part of the rear seat, is briefcase shaped, and oriented with the narrow part parallel to the seat back and the long part running side to side in the car. The rear seat does not fold down. The fan for the pack is accessed from the trunk side. It could be that they couldn't fit all of these components into the same car.
Newer city buses are set up as CNG/hybrid. Allison is making hybrid electric transmissions and a few bus builders are coupling them to CNG engines.
