The bolt in the clamp that clamps the airbox to the throttle body is completely rounded. Does anybody know the number for that clamp or the bolt specs so I can replace the bolt (or the whole clamp) once I get the rounded one off? It's not labeled in any of the diagrams I've found. Thanks in advance.
They universal alum units at the parts store for cool intakes several here on tool box red blue hinged affairs one my cars do not even have the slip fit if the rubbers so tight it has to be prayed off . So no need clamp . Piece of string around the clamp bead for measurement
Tried another tack, searched with google for: 2nd gen prius clamp between throttle body and air box and the AI summary is very detailed, indicates part number: 90466-62002 or the more generic but may fit: 96111-10800 Looks to be a spring-style clamp, with the tricky lock-open design. That’s the style on my third gen as well. Maybe the clamp on yours is not original??
I went down the AI route and thought it was promising but it was just "hallucinating". I'm talking about the clamp at the bottom of the airbox next to the MAF sensor. For some reason it's not even labeled in the diagram you posted or any others I found online Do you recommend a worm clamp or spring or does it not even matter
@Mendel Leisk and his big AI team is correct. Was this clamp original or perhaps replaced with a lame hose clamp? That can be done for cheap, or unscrew the bolt and get a new bolt from any hw store? Naturally the OE clamp is flawless/better, but if in a hurry etc…
Are you sure? For reference, I'm referring to the very last clamp she loosens to get the air cleaner assembly off in the youtube video called "Throttle Body Cleaning - DIY Prius Maintenance" (Sorry I can't link it my account is too new ). It doesn't look anything like that clip. Maybe I am misunderstanding something? I'm not very savvy yet
I even checked the video to understand, that clamp is NOT the original clamp, but is a generic hose clamp. They work, but are prone to get rounded. If you have one of those, then try using a angled mini socket witha Philips head, as hose clamps normally have both. Otherwise just cut it off with a plier and replace preferably with a correct OE spring version, or buy another big hose clamp.. Hope this helps.
This is the OE one if this is the lowest clamp. Someone likely broke it since it’s normally a tad frustrating to get unclamped. 9046662002 Genuine Toyota CLAMP(FOR AIR CLEANER HOSE, NO.1) 90466-62002 | eBay
