Is there a way to get rid of the radio station banner reminder dropping down from the top of the screen every 30 seconds or so while in car play?
Bump….. Let me explain further…..when I am in any car play screen and listening to my local FM radio station a banner drops down from the top right corner of the 12.3 inch screen every 20-25 seconds or so displaying (FM 105.9) or any station I’m listening to. It’s the same type of banner displayed when I go through a school zone….which I don’t mind. The radio station banner gets annoying after a while. Is there any way to turn that off?
When I have the display turned off, which I like to do, I get a pop-up (I wonder if that's the word) for the station initially, or when I change stations, but I think that's it. I counted to three minutes, and nothing dropped down. I'll have to check with the screen on next time. And, it's the smaller screen.
The radio banner I’m talking about is much smaller than the whole screen. When you go through a school zone do you get a banner saying entering school zone? The radio banner is the same size.
Yes. It's maybe an inch, and inch and a half square, as I recall. Drops down for a little while, then goes away.
I wonder if there is another app on the phone that might be kicking it off? I'll check to see what it does tomorrow with the screen on.
Ok, I’ve got the answer. Go into settings>radio and turn off HD FM. That will stop the pop up banner from appearing periodically. With HD radio turned on the head unit hunts for the FM HD signal and when that signal can’t be found the broadcast reverts back to stereo. Once the HD signal is found again that’s when the pop up banner appears signifying HD FM signal has been found. Hope this helps.
