I looked in the multimedia owner’s manual…I really did!

    Ok, why is my ringtone, new message and received volume sliders greyed out and unusable in my sound and media > levels settings?

    Ok, I’ve got the answer for this too. Go to setting>bluetooth and tap on your device. Once in there turn off car play and turn on use phone for media and phone.

    Go back to sound media > levels and the 3 sliders will active. You can now adjust the volumes. Once you have done that go back to Bluetooth >your device and click car play back on.

    The volume controls you just adjusted will be greyed out again but the settings will be saved where you set them.

    Easy Peezy…..

    This may be relevant. Or, an answer to a question you hadn't thought of. :)

    I was annoyed with how load the map voice was. Turns out when she's speaking, you can use the volume knob to adjust it.
